CGPV provides RM370,000 , 10 UTM students receive Future Force Scholarship Award
Country Garden Pacificview (CGPV) Sdn Bhd has provided RM370,000 for the Forest City-UTM Future Force Scholarship Award. This CSR initiative will be the first step towards enhancing education opportunities for Malaysians.
Ten selected undergraduates of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) will be awarded RM5,000 each per semester this year, as a result of a strategic partnership agreement inked between the university and the master developer of Forest City on the 8th of November, 2016.
The Forest City-UTM Future Force Scholarship Award aims to empower and groom budding talents to eventually contribute to the Malaysian economy and society.
The forest city has long been concerned about the education of local talents. It has cooperated with many schools to promote the cultivation of local talents through scholarships, internships and employment.
Forest City is a model of sustainable, green and smart future city that aspires to create more than 220,000 job opportunities over the next 30 years. To date, Forest City has created 1,200 out of 1,545 job opportunities for locals which amount to 80% localisation rate of the total employee workforce.
The award ceremony was held on October 10, 2018 in the Forest City. The ceremony was attended by Assistant CEO and General Manager of Human Resources Department of CGPV, Mr. She Zhenwei, General Manager of Strategy Department, of CGPV, Mr. Ng Zhu Hann, and UTM vice-chancellor Prof. Datuk. Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar , UTM’s deputy vice-chancellor (student affairs) Prof Dr Durrishah Idrus, Assistant Vice President (Student Affairs), and some CGPV employees, some UTM outstanding students.
